Make the Most of your Hair

Say, you've been wearing your hair long for quite sometime and not really sure how to make the most of it when it comes to caring and styling

My bride: Crislyn Mae in her sweet one-of-a-kind up-do

CARING for your hair day and night is a must just as you do with your skin.

Here are a few good points to remember:

1. USE THE RIGHT BRUSH
There is a myth that brushing your hair each night helps it to grow more and grow stronger, but that's simply not true. You should carefully untangle your hair, brushing just enough to get out the knots, since brushing could split hair and damage it. (Especially if your brush has a very hard bristle)

2. CAUTION WHEN WET
Your hair has more of a chance of breakage when it's wet. Be careful when combing it; always use a conditioner or a mask to help you and use a wide-toothed comb. Be very gentle and don't rub your hair with a towel.

3. WASH ONLY AS NEEDED
You don't need to wash your hair every day, as long as you don't have very oily hair or get it dirty at work every day. Two or three washes a week is more than enough. You can wet your hair down daily in the shower if you prefer and use conditioner, but save your shampoo for every once in a while.

4. MASSAGE YOUR SCALP
You wash your hair, take the opportunity to massage your scalp, which will help the product work better. You will also activate your blood circulation, which will help your hair grow in stronger.

5. BE BOLD
To make the most of your hair, the best thing is to be bold with new styles and up-dos and wear a flattering cut.
Here are some tricks:

a.) Add a touch of shine
If you aren't ready to change your color, give yourself a color wash with a product the same color as you already have. This will activate your hair's shine and it will look healthier.

b.) Cut bangs
If you are afraid to try a radical change, try cutting some long, straight bangs

c.) Pull it up
Get out of your rut! Sometimes we don't step out of our shell to try styles such as a low chignon, although this is a very flattering and trendy style right now.

d.) Move your part
If you always part your hair in the middle or to one side, change it up and you'll look different in a nice way.
